A Question About Dreams

Hey Ruth, here is a question I have on dreams. I was telling my friend that I am a visual learner and this is what she wrote back: “You shouldn’t rely so much on visual – it’s the easiest of the senses and when you rely on it too much your other senses suffer and become lazy. Also – that is when God watches and then makes you blind – becuz God has a weird sense of humour.”

Anyway, it dawned on me that I don’t ever remember having a dream where I smelled anything. So I am thinking that because I’m a visual learner, that my sense of smell doesn’t play a part in my dreams. Is this correct? Do you find that true with people who are visual, that they only have visual dreams, etc.?

Shadows of Dreams

Hey Ruth, I went to see the movie “Inception” again and now I have more questions than before. In the movie they talk about several layers of dreams and I have also been reading Dr. Van Castle’s book “Our Dreaming Mind.”***

What I have noticed now in my dreaming is that I have had two dreams recently with at least two levels of dreaming. I know I’m dreaming, wake up, and I am still in another dream. One dream had to do with someone trying to enter my apartment by putting their hands under my door, like an alien hand (referenced movie “Signs”) and I was so scared I woke up and said I would have to tell you about it, and then I woke up again. Fascinating!!! Millicent

***You can order this book through my ‘Publications page’ directly from Amazon.

What I do as a Dream Weaver is not what you do when you analyze dreams, so it is not easy to teach you what to do and then deliver an entirely different message from my own pen, but that is what I do. The shamanic work of interpreting dreams is something that you are given, rather than learn to do from a book or studying with others, but it came to me as a gift after displaying years of interest in dreams…it may happen to you, too…

?Inception? the movie

Seems like Hollywood is really getting on the ‘nerve’ of all my friends with their skewed views of what many have worked with for years and years and see very, very differently. Please consider the following and mention it to your friends in conversation, too…

Dear friends of dreams,

This week IASD (International Association for the Study of Dreams) is asking you to participate in the start of a fine dream experiment.

We don't usually mention movie premieres, but the launch of the new Leonardo DiCaprio film, ‘Inception,’ ...because of the content of this film, which involves DiCaprio's character entering people's dreams to extract information from them, IASD felt the need to create a page giving some facts about lucid dreams and mutual or shared dreaming.

If you care to study dreams, you need to put in time and effort—make sacrifices if you really want to develop your mind and understand your life from the inside out. My work as a Dream Weaver has been exceedingly wide and deep, but very few males ever ask about the state of their dreams now. Wonder why???

Shared Dreams

“Is it possible to have the same dream at the same time as someone else—or meet someone in a dream?”

Psychic and Lucid Dreams, plus Nightmares

Today we tackle the dreams many adepts struggle to handle…but we keep it very simple.

Nightmares

Nightmares can be so scary they wake you up out of a deep sleep. The feelings of fear, anxiety, and stress they display most likely are happening in some area of your waking life. Nightmares can also be triggered by traumatic events. If you understand the dream, it can help you deal with the life issues causing the nightmare. While still in the dream, try asking the scary figure ‘who are you?’ and ‘what do you want?’ Nightmares are very common, but unlike night terrors. Other causes for nightmares can be drug useage or medications (or withdrawal from either), illness, or fever.

More on Study of Dreams

Trying not to give you to much to think about at one time, because we are not going to go back over these questions again. Have to move on quickly because so many are ready to seriously connect in their dreams now…

Recurring Dreams

“I have a recurring dream. Why does that happen?”

Unresolved issues in a person’s life often lead to recurring dreams. If you resolve the issue, the recurring dream likely will stop. If you had recurring dreams at certain times in your life or are having them now, think about this: Is this a recurring situation? Did an unresolved issue in your life come up again when you had this dream? Once you pinpoint the source of the recurring dream, address the unresolved issue causing it. Once the issue is resolved, in all probability you will stop having recurring dreams.

More About Dreams

The other day I said I would follow up with more on dreams, then dropped the ball, or so it seems. Since I believe we get what we need when we need it, I assume the delay was caused by someone getting on line only now, unable to ring in until this moment in time… So, whether you have been waiting for this or reading about dreams here for the first time, let’s continue with more questions from dreamers:

What can I do to increase my dream recall?

When you first wake up, most people tend to jump out of bed and spring into action—a sure way to forget any lingering traces of a dream. If you can instead lie still upon awakening and pay attention to anything you might be feeling or thinking, you may better recall your dreams, particularly the last one.

Hi Ruth, It is so interesting to me that time flows through as a theme in every subject we are talking about. Dream time, learning to grow up over time, and the necessity of spending time to develop one's abilities.

Dear Ruth,

My dream work channeled from my guides was very powerful to me and so were your thoughts and comments. You are right that the material is not fully seen and understood by me at this time and it will continue to be a source of material to meditate on in some areas, while other areas were clearer and my guides did give counsel on how to lighten the load of non-essentials right now.

The most powerful things you mention that probably should be shared on the blog are:

Hi Ruth, I had a good laugh at the nutrition grocery store today when I saw printed on a book, 'Ecoholic - when you are addicted to the planet'. Is this some humor from The Teachers of The Higher Planes?? It's definitely a whole new way to look at addiction for me.

I have experienced many small miracles like this and bigger ones too since my return from the Tucson Retreat. By the way, I loved the retreat. It was top notch all around - the company, the food, the resort, the seminars, the trips out and about in Tucson. Thanks so much ... It was worth it without a doubt and will be a time that highly resonates in my mind.

Retreat work continues

Been getting so much great feed-back from others regarding our last retreat in Tucson, so I want to share with you all here as many reports as I get or think will help you expand as well. This one comes from a woman who experienced tremendous growth during our work together. May you sense the work she is doing and lend her energy as you read about what she is doing now.

Ruth,
Thank you!!! … My entire journey of 11 days was so wonderful. I loved the experiences, the synchronicities, the lessons. On the journey, I released some feelings around abandonment. I also worked on surrender and trust - especially in Sedona.

There are so many cool things that happened. On the last night, Sarah and I met a large tarantula in the middle of a sidewalk path bordered by bushes. We had to walk toward it to go around. I was scared but pushed past the fear. The tarantula went running the other way when I got to the side of it. By any chance did you shape-shift into the tarantula?
