An Unexpected Gift From The Maya
She dreams of me from time to time and sees me talking to many people. Anyhow, she reported that she felt Jaguar Bird in full dress beside her as she drew the picture. She drew four glyph-like shapes with the fourth looking like corn, and then there is a standing figure of a Mayan man with
hand extended. Each of the three glyphs before the corn seems to have some form of three. The third one actually has three dots. The second glyph has a spiral in it. I need to spend more time on this drawing in order to do an interpretation.

Mel Gibson's Take on The Maya and Our Reality Now
One last thought before we leave for Mayaland...
When Mel Gibson spars with a scholar, you have to wonder, but when he throws a well-known Mayan scholar out, you have to realize that he has a very mean streak going on...no matter what he says about it.
Many Uses of the Mayan Calendar
In addition to its role as a contact to the ancestors, many Maya used the calendar for celebrating significant energy shifts. At such times shamanic kings made prophecies about the future within the new energy. A basis for knowledge was developed about how the energies shifted according to the calendar and in combination with a shamanic connection to the world tree prophecies of relevance to the present moment and the immediate time ahead.
Why not use the calendar once again, based on the deeper understanding at our disposal regarding its meaning. The Maya are providing access to vast knowledge of the cosmic world that was not been available since ancient times.
Go to the Publications section of this site and review "The Word of The Maya" as scribed by Ruth Lee.
The aspect of the Mayan calendar system that is still in use today is the Sacred Calendar of 260 days. Mayan day-keepers pray daily to the Creator and perform ceremonies that honor the day signs. Among the living Maya the 260-day calendar serves various functions:
Keep track of the energies of each day.
Calculate birth energies of individuals.
Determine the celebration of holy days.
Healing practices.
Prophecy and divination.
