Another take on death and living...or is it?

Dear Ruth,
My cousin Misty's best friend Nicki died from cancer yesterday.  She was 23 years young.  I'd like to request prayers for her friends and family during this time of their grief.  I know that Nicki is OK, and with God now.  I celebrate her evolution into the spiritual realm, and pray that this be a time of love and celebration of her special life,
and how she touched the lives of others while she was here.

Don't ever let your dreams set on the table.  Not even for a day.  That is what I am taking from this now.  More fully absorbed than ever before.  Celebrate the success and the failures alike, because if we don't have the failures, we have surely never truly lived.  I would not want to meet God a the end of my life, without the love lessons that failure teaches me.  For if I had, I had never done all the exploring I came to do.

Answer to my prayer...

Over 1,200 people signed on to participate in our teleseminar, "Healing is a Breath Away," Thursday night.  At the end of our time together, we prayed and asked folks to send in their prayers and comments on the work we all did together then.  My prayer was that someone would send in the exact, PERFECT, piece that would explain life to all and help everyone get on with living in the Now.

No wonder then that Marvin, who may not have even been in on the call, sent this to me Friday.  I think you will agree with me that it is the best lecture ever given at a major university today.  What a blessing to see this man from Pittsburgh inspire so many with his words of wisdom.

Please remember him and his family in your prayers.

Prayer Request

Cher writes that her brother-in-law, David…is scheduled for an angiogram tomorrow.  The Drs. have found a spot behind his heart and think he may have had another heart attack or it could be some kind of blockage. Please keep him in your prayers.

Life and Death Matters

Today I received news from two different sources that leads the mind to contemplate time, life and God.  Not bad for one short period of 'time' and yet it is puzzling when you hear of one person dying ten days after cancer was found in his liver and pancrease and he signed off all his papers two hours earlier....  and another who was told to get her papers in order months ago discovers she is in remission, in fact, there is doubt that there is any cancer now.

Please keep Lynne's mother in your prayers now as she prepares to live again, having been told she is free of cancer once again.  That is twice in two years!  After being told both times that the end was in sight.

Prayers Requested

Life is so strange at times, but we must take it in stride and not worry too much.  Yesterday i intended to share wonderful letters sent in in response to my first newsletters in many years.  For reasons unexplainable here and now, i could not post Wendi's letters and the letter i sent her apparently fell through a galactic crack....  So now we know that much was surfacing...when the timing is right, you can step into time!  Please remember Wendi's sister and family with prayers and any energy you can spare.
Dear Ruth,

My sister went into labor (at 9 months) last night and this morning delivered a still-born baby. We are all filled with sorrow. There was no sign of ill health in either of them and all checkups were going well. There was no reason for the baby to die, but yet she did. She was to be named after my mother, Elizabeth Marie, who died a few years ago. Now she will be buried in the same plot with her Grandmother of the same name. It is all so very sad. I am going to spend time with my sister and will return in about two weeks.

I didn't want you to think I was ignoring your email. I will write after I return.

Love, Wendi

Special Prayer Request

Cheryl sent us this request today:

Very Special Prayer Request from Peggy Lesley at Brookwood Church.  My son's best friend has cancer (Hodgkin's  Lymphoma).  He is 11 years old and is not doing well at all.  He was diagnosed with this cancer 2 weeks ago and the tumor is next to his  jugular vein and entwined in it... It has moved his wind pipe over an inch, making it hard for him to breathe.  The tumor is the size of a large eggplant and is sitting right above his  heart. This little boy needs all the prayer he can get!

Prayer Requests

Back to our business of working and praying and helping out wherever possible, we need to remember those of us who are going through tough times--perhaps alone, and can use more energy and thoughtful words than we usually find in today's life.

Please keep Marge present in your mind for a short time and ask for God's blessings upon her now.  Marge sent along this message with her valentine to me and i wish to share it with each of you now:

Please remember Birgit's father who is having major surgery on his only kidney this week...Keep him in your thoughts.

Just as an update: My father will have his procedure done in Berlin in the week of February 4th, 2008, he should be ok, as they will do this
minimal invasive surgery.

Thanks for all,
Birgit

Thank You For Your Prayers...

Following up on our recent request for Prayers...

Just wanted to let you know that we are home from our long journey and OK.

We were really blessed- good weather, well-behaved children, and beautiful times with family members.  My mom was able to enjoy the holiday.  Thanks so much for your prayers and the prayers of all on the blog.  She was weak and tired from her pain medication but it was the most loving and heartfelt Christmas celebration we've ever had.  It seemed like God designed it as the perfect Christmas.  I will cherish those memories always.

My husband's dad got thru his cancer surgery well and was in good spirits.
