Let’s Study The Tao te Ching

The class on The Tao te Ching started February 5, 2010 here on The Blog, so you want to start at the beginning, as a wise man once said.   Be sure to provide adequate time for each class --  ignore any desire to skip ahead and view lessons before they are provided. We’re trying to develop a ‘critical mass’ here on The Blog that is able to talk about what we are learning -- what we think of The Tao te Ching.

All you need do to study one of the world’s great religions here is watch a video or two every day. Here is the final segment of a lecture by Alan Watts on the principals of Tao Te Ching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBlsOj9iS28&NR=1
Followed by The Tao of Kung Fu  - "Peace is prized above victory." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DhnAnGd8PY&feature=related

The story about the horses and not judging if the moment's circumstances are good or bad/fortune or misfortune has been with me for many years now. Alan talks about this being the mindset of non-choosing in the Tao and Lao Tzu's journey in opening to this. I am reminded that judging circumstances is a habit and is not the only way to 'see' my world. Thank you.
