Let’s Study The Tao te Ching

The class on The Tao te Ching started February 5, 2010 here on The Blog, so you want to start at the beginning, as a wise man once said.   Be sure to provide adequate time to each class and ignore any desire to skip ahead and view lessons before they are provided here. Let’s try to develop a ‘critical mass’ here on The Blog and talk about what we found interesting or not and what we think of The Tao te Ching. All you need do to study one of the world’s great religions here is watch a video or two every day.

Here is another segment of a lecture by Alan Watts on the principals of Tao Te Ching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKXtEZ3sPjM&NR=1
Followed by The Tao of Kung Fu  - "All creatures are one with nature." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmQNBSQmXCE&feature=related

Hi Ruth, Funny I've been wishing lately that I would have studied religion in University. I'm SO happy for the opportunity to instead study with you and your friends on the blog and fb. Thanks SO much!

I like the idea when the individual (Te) is uniquely being themself they naturally align with the flow (Tao) of the Universe. That really resonated for me and I had no idea what the Te stood for before. The blind man in the Kung Fu video is amazing - I somewhat recall seeing this many years ago as a child. It's like the video clip from the peaceful warrior you posted on facebook a few weeks back. I am also very happy to now know how to pronounce Lao Tzu name. It's not as hard as I thought ;)
