Are you for or against God and what that means today?

Hey Ruth,
I had a great discussion in the kitchen this morning about a movie titled “The Mist.”  This is a movie that was out last summer and was supposed to be scary because of an unseen monster trapping a grocery store filled with people.  I told my co-worker that it is an excellent story on human behavior and that the writer, Stephen King, always writes about good and evil.  One of the characters is a religious zealot and when one of the monsters comes to claim her in the grocery store, it leaves her untouched.

My co-worker asked why this character was saved and my response was “when evil sees evil, it doesn’t need to bother.”  I told her that the devil doesn’t need to bother with people who are already bad, it goes after those who claim to be good.  This movie reminded by of the book written by C. S. Lewis called “The Screwtape Letters” which is an excellent story about a devil in training not needing to bother about people who are already on their side.  The ending is right out of Twilight Zone.  I told the co-worker, here is another instance where we must always stand against that which is bad.  Millicent

Note: When I was called to do the work of spiritual counseling I was told not to bother with those ‘not of God’, in fact, I would not be bothered by them because only those moved by The Holy Spirit would ask for my work as a Spiritual Scribe. Just a switch on what you have mentioned above.

What makes Stephen King interesting to me is that you can't easily tell, for a while, anyway, who/what is good/evil. Here's the "original sin" of "eating of the fruit of the tree of know3edgge-of-good-and-evil" (meaning, descending to the denser awareness of duality and judgment): As soon as I start judging whether people are good or evil, I become corrupt. This doesn't mean that I don't protect against corruption and danger; it just means not to fall into judgment, like the "christians" who are ready to burn heretics for not believing the same words that they do.
I always find it interesting that the original word that was taken for 'evil' in Aramaic is more accurately translated as 'unripe' -- meaning their understanding is incomplete, like that of children. So if we remember that everyone is at some stage of growth, we can simply deal with them as we do with children: reward and discipline, accept or ignore.
That leaves some big questions, like when the 'children' are running the government (and thus, the world!) They have not sufficient understanding to keep us safe, but they have captured power. What is our duty as spiritual adults? My teachers cautioned us that any reaction done at the illusory world's own level would lead to backlash and more misery. How to operate from a higher level?
