Uforia Salon gets “Colorful” for Mother’s Day!!
By Kathy Safchick
Human beings are marvelous creations, each one totally unique in their own way. Like snowflakes we have distinct differences that set us apart in various ways, but overall, in a ‘universal’ sense, we are very much the same with similar needs for love and acceptance and aspirations for success and happiness.
This realization struck a chord and caused us to look closer at how we provide service to our clients. Already considered a major player as a salon and spa in our community, we wanted to be of service in more profound and meaningful ways.
Delving deeper into the science of what makes us look and feel good about ourselves, the question of color has become increasingly important in finding the best look for our clients. Not only do we take into consideration the importance of makeup and hair color, we cannot exclude the dramatic affect of wardrobe. A simple change in color choice and clothing style can make all the difference in how we look and feel, and how we appear to others. In the business world when jobs and income depend on making a favorable first and a lasting impression on those we wish to reach, it can be critical to appear attractively put together. This is vital for men and women in the corporate arena. Color has a huge impact on how we look, feel and act; and has become an extraordinary tool used by those in the know. The science of color is being used more and more in hospitals, workplaces and homes all over the world. A recent renovation of Uforia Salon and Spa is a perfect example of using color to enhance and create ambiance and relaxation in the workplace.
In simpler days, color seasons were broken down into four easy categories of Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn. Over the years more scientific methods indicate you can be a “main season,” yet have blends of one or more others that completely change the original diagnosis of an individual’s perfect colors. Aging also has an affect on body harmony colors and it is now recommended that colors be re-evaluated later in life.
The diverse cultures that comprise the population of North America have created a delightful “stew” of nationalities and races. Everyone has distinct body harmony colors, skin coloring, undertones and eye patterns. Using all these clues like Sherlocks of the Beauty Industry, with magnifying glass in hand, we can hone in on an individual’s best color choices in makeup, hair color and clothing. For men, the importance of knowing the best colors to wear can relate directly to success in business and relationships. The right colors enhance your natural coloring and give you a look of confidence.
After discovering which colors work best for you and what they can do for your overall well-being, you’ll be thrilled you took the time to be analyzed and educated in “the science of color,” says Peg Lombardi…. color analyst and image consultant for Uforia.
“Knowing your colors is an important component to building self-esteem, improving productivity and self-awareness,” says Kathy Safchick, owner of Uforia Salon and Spa. “I cannot over emphasis the importance of knowing your individual body harmony colors. If you look in the mirror and not like what you see, it could be as simple as a change of color.”
