Indiana Jones and the Mayan Crystal Skulls

Caught the following news in my morning paper last night (yes, I do fall behind, but try to keep up)…

Dateline:
Palenque, Mexico (You already know about Palenque, right?)

There’s a legend that the ancient Maya possessed 13 crystal skulls which, when united, hold the power of saving the Earth—a tale so strange and fantastic that it inspired the latest Indian Jones movie.

Inspiriting Web Site - The Hunger Project

Thanks, Helen, for sending in this great link to share with everyone here.
By the way, have you seen the hunger project web site? If not, here’s a link: http://www.thp.org/ This isn’t the (same kind of) help programs that are so "common." The Hunger project has a different approach that I find interesting, maybe you will too?
Have a great day! Helen

May 13, 3008 Thought for The Day

Criticizing the way someone makes a living is not a nice way to introduce your views.  Better to ask what they do and discover why they do it than to assume you would never do it, too.  Why?  God has a weird way of paying you back whenever you are naughty.

The greatest gift is love...

This is absolutely the BEST gift I received! What a wonderful thing for siblings to get together and gift their mother who really wanted a session with The Scribe very, very much. I do not encourage clients to give gift certificates to work with me usually because the recipient probably has no clue about what I do and only a vague idea based on the scope of work I do with their friend or family member.  It seldom works out that well, but this time it was a complete and total success, and I am so very happy! I just loved doing this one because it was so full of great ideas and surprises and life!

Quickly run over your list of things that must be done now.  Are you doing any of them?  If so, smile.  You are probably the only one who believes that now.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, Part 2

Thanks to Micky for this one...it's a keeper.
Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.

A mother shows every emotion....happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow...and all the while hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take.  She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space...not even death!

MAY WE NEVER TAKE OUR MOTHERS FOR GRANTED.
'The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or touched - they must be felt with the heart.'

Happy Mother's Day!

As Rebecca says below, in the spirit of Mothers Day, thank you, for all you do, too!  Thank you for all the wonderful cards and thoughts...much appreciated always.  I have time to devote to so many of you because i do not have children of my own, but i have raised a few and been involved with the teaching of many and know what many of you go through to raise a family in today's society.  I salute all of you!  Take a bow now!
We are soon going to be gone for a short time to renew our energy and work with Spirit and hope that all of you will remember this blessing when Father's Day rolls around because i will not be here that Sunday to wish you the best, too.

Conversing with Deer

We have often shared photos of Marlis and Rasa with the deer they adopted or adopted them, but this time we have a video that speaks volumes.  Noticed that many, many people love their youtube work, too.  No idea who introduced us, but it is a great tribute to motherhood and love...
Hi All,
Here's a short video of Marlis conversing with our deer friends.

Enjoy!
Love, light and laughter,  Rasa

May 11, 2008 Thought for The Day

Without a thought is not easy to accomplish.  You have to block all that you are doing now.  Can you do it?

A CASE FOR OPTIMISM

For those of us who watch PBS, especially Charley Rose and The News Hour, and have daily newspapers that carry his columns, Fareed Zakaria is not a strange name or an unfamiliar face and voice; however, I am not sure about those who get all their news from various biased sources, perhaps they have not heard of him until now… Thanks Micky for sending this in!

A CASE FOR OPTIMISM:
Fareed Zakaria is a wise young man, to the point where Foreign Policy has named him one of the 100 most influential young policy makers in the world. When Zakaria writes or speaks, if we can, we read or listen, for we always learn something.  This week he's written one of the more important articles he's ever produced. A friend sent it to us. We are reproducing a portion of it here. Noting the disconcerting nature of modern life in the US, Zakaria's comments on the media, the ubiquity of "breaking news," and the distorted view of world politics and economics that Americans have under these circumstances are very much worthy of our time:

Angel of The Maya is at work right now

Hey Ruth, I had lunch with my friend Nicole today and told her …about the organization that lets you decided who you want to loan money to.  I found this group of women from Guatemala (link below) and it reminded me of Angel of the Maya, especially since Maya is the name of their group. Millicent
