8-8-2008 - A Perfect 8 Day

Many believe that being behind the 8 ball is not a good place to find yourself this life, but in numerology it is a great place to be! Few who read The Blog actually do much more than dabble in numerology, but that does not mean we can’t get started learning more about the Number Eight and what it means.

Read and assess if you are in sync or out of it as relates to the cosmic power of Eight and how it affects your life today:

First of all, 8 is an even number and carries different characteristics than an odd number. Odd numbers relate to relatively abstract concepts whereas 8 represents material satisfaction.

9-Year Old Healer

Dear Ruth,
I want to share something with you…

Last night, at 11:00, I could go no further…My back was hurting really bad and I had just had enough noise that I was desperately seeking solitude. :-)  I tucked in the kids and Dylan asked if I wanted a back rub.  I said that sounded great!

August 8, 2008 Thought for The Day

Superstitions abound when the mind is empty of sound advice to give its human at all times.  Try to replace what is not wise or lies with facts and what you truly believe is what you want to be or achieve.  It makes life so much easier and wiser to be you now.

Train Your Mind Change Your Brain

Every once in a while I find a book that just has to be added to my Recommended Reading list, and I found one recently that I heard about last year or the year before on Charlie Rose’s Show. It is truly a marvelous way for the mind to wrap itself around why meditation can improve your life and change your brain at the same time.

A book that helps all who love science or meditation and what comes through then will enjoy the brilliant writing of Sharon Begley in her book “Train Your Mind Change Your Brain ~ How a new science reveals our extraordinary potential to transform ourselves” ISBN 978-1-4000-6390-1. The forward is by The Dalai Lama and the preface by Daniel Goleman who knows all about emotional and social intelligence.

This book is a groundbreaking collaboration between neuroscience and Buddhism. Sound weird? Think about it! They go together and if you doubt it, check out this book and revise your mind. : )

August 7, 2008 Thought for The Day

The first day of your new life is not tomorrow or yesterday or even today, but right now as you read this line.  Can you really skip over that advice and smile?  What if you know this is the last day and you are going to ascend and not be here tomorrow?  Would that make a difference in how you lived now?

'Our Man' at the Olympics is a Woman

The U.S. hits the field for the first time in the 2008 Olympics on Aug. 6 against Norway at Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium. Fans can tune in at 7:45 a.m. ET live on MSNBC, Universal HD and the NBC soccer channel. Now you have someone to root for exclusively and get others to root for her and the team, too!

Our dear friend, Penny, sent me this update on her niece and our friend, Angela Hucles, who is a very spiritual being using her full potential to rise above others. Not unlike Mandy and her lessons on ascension in Angel of The Maya. Angela fits right in!

QINHUANGDAO, China (August 1, 2008) - A veteran for the U.S. Women’s National Team, Angela Hucles has thrived under the direction of head coach Pia Sundhage. She is poised to play a key role in the 2008 Olympics, whatever that role may be.

Mid-Summer Thoughts and Dreams

How's your summer going?  some are a bit bogged down about now, and where i live the weathermen like to frighten you every day with news that someone predicts lots of hurricanes and storms in the future so no one should feel secure.  It is their bread and butter -- how they make a living, but too many innocents believe in what they sell so well and are upset the entire rainy season that something terrible is going to happen to them.  Well, coming from an area where it rains non-stop for weeks at a time (no exaggeration!), i lose patience with those who make others nervous or worried needlessly.

August 6, 2008 Thought for The Day

No matter who is in charge, you are still in charge of how you are and what you do and who you believe.  Try not to get confused and harm your overall body or life thinking otherwise.

Take a Minute and Relax

It's that kind of a day!  Take advantage of it...  Just posted what you need to live to be 100 and immediately opened to this beautiful meditation shared by Cher...

Live to be 100 the Easy Way

Today AOL is sharing the latest research on living to be 100. Here are a couple of things that stand out because I doubt that any class or book written by me or through me ever ignores these points, and you may have wondered why or ignored them completely because they are just TOO easy.

Manage Stress

Whether you manage stress by getting a massage, meditating or working out, as long as you're doing something to curtail the anxiety you're headed towards a healthier life.  Stressful situations such as births, deaths, divorce and employment concerns often slow down the blood flow to the heart, raise cholesterol levels, decrease your mental well-being and weaken the immune system.

August 5, 2008 Thought for The Day

Out of the blues now?  Why would you spend an hour or two doing something that makes you sick or upsets you quite a bit?  Think of that whenever you are pulled to be sad.
