October 6, 2008 Thought for The Day

There is a lot of work to be done when you start out without any funds, but it is the very best way to learn any business from the ground up and not from the top down.

Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi"

Like to share with you a bit of a letter I received from Julie today. You might want to pick up this book or reread it as she did:

…it is another miracle demonstrated on how things appear at precisely the right time. I am re-reading Yogananda's  “Autobiography of a Yogi” (after close to 40 years) and that is shown over and over in each chapter. That was such a life altering book for me those many years ago because it taught me about the divine quest of a spiritual aspirant to find God and it really stretched my mind and showed me innumerable wonders and miracles known to holy people and people of great faith and spiritual discipline.

When you are sick and not able to figure out what you are doing, go to bed.  Nothing worse than to stagger about without any ability to straighten out your life and possibly bring harm to your body.

Update on Psychic Development

Several of you who could not join the Psychic Development classes due to prior commitments have asked how it is progressing.  From time-to-time someone shares what I think everyone here can use, or might be interested in now.  We have a much larger group than I anticipated!  Each student is there by a twist of fate... How else can so little promotion garner so many apt practitioners so quickly?

Hi Ruth,

I have been repeating the words "I am safe, I am happy, no harm comes to me."  I keep affirming that I am a forward thinker when my mind goes backwards.  The other night when meditating I could not relax and I asked God for help.  I started saying out loud, over and over, "I am safe" and peace filled me quickly. I went from anxiety to calm in a moment.

October 4, 2008 Thought for The Day

Pleasing others is never easy, but if you are truly unable to know who you are, the task of pleasing you is not going to be accomplished with any degree of ease, either.

FaceBook Pointers

Thought you would find this information very interesting, whether you participate on FaceBook or not, guys, too...
Dear Ruth,

What fun to interview Mari Smith- an expert in using relationships to market, especially on Facebook. She’s been featured in Fast Company Magazine as the ‘Pied Piper’ of Facebook.  Mari was a delight to talk with and provided a TON of excellent information in this interview on quick, easy and effective ways to use FaceBook for business growth.

Speaking of women...

Browsing a Blog just now at another author’s site, I spotted the following and thought it tied in with a lot of e-mail I have received recently. See what I mean…

RE: Why do older women get more respect at the voting booth than the mall?

"Many of us aren't the right size and shape for high fashion so the young people who clerk at the mall don't see us potential customers.

A Case of Mistaken Identity

A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.  As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

Working on your own biography is a waste of your precious life.  Live it instead and if it is great, someone else will write about it.

Steve Forbes, Warren Buffett, Ireland and the dollar

Hey Ruth,
I thought about you last night while I was listening to Steve Forbes of Forbes Magazine talk about the economy.  He was the first lecturer in Robert Morris University’s Lecture Series at Heinz Hall last night.  …one of the things Steve Forbes talked about was that we should look at Ireland.

He said 30 years ago Ireland was one of the poorest countries in the world and they turned themselves around so much that their economy is better than England, France and Germany.  He said that the middle European countries are now looking at Ireland as the model of how to turn their economies around.  He explained that one of the things Ireland did, which we should do in the United States, is have a flat income tax.  He said the United States has too many taxes and that the tax code, with over 9 million words, is too much for anyone to understand.
