Today marked a day that will long be remembered. For the last time AOL has warned me that i am sending out way too many e-mails at one time to all who are On The E with Ruth Lee.
I have several ways to handle this:
1. Send out a letter to all involved and inform them that we are starting the mailing list over from scratch (again) and only those who respond to this letter will receive mail from The Scribe in the future.
2. Set up dual mailing lists on Comcast and Hotmail and daily mail half the present list out from both accounts. Not using AOL at all for mailing Sharings.
3. Notify everyone On The E that we will now meet here on The Blog...going from E to B, so to speak.
I will pray on this and see what comes to my mind by tomorrow this time and follow suit on whatever is decided then. In the meantime, you can let me know what you prefer or think is best and see what happens.
Again, thank you all for your work on The E with Ruth Lee over the last 9+ years using AOL. It is unlike any other group of friends meeting anywhere on the internet now---according to AOL. We have made history, but like everything else...times change and we must obey.
One way or another, we will keep in touch and help as many as we can with one response a day...that teaches and shares testimonies and prayers and all sorts of work that comes through the air.
It just might be time to narrow the list down again. I have no idea of teh numbers AOL is talking about. If the current list is not too far over the limit it would probably take care of the problem to send out a letter and ask those who wish to stay on to write you back.
I say use the blog. It is really easy to use and it brings everyone to the site who is interested in working this way. They may choose to look at other pages as well and it brings everything together for more sharing of information. This eliminates any complaining by aol or any other server down the road and you can handle it all on one site one visit. May bring about more participation, because it is right there on the same page. Blog, comment, send in a few bits of news or views. It’s time to use the site to the max. I like it!!! That’s my opinion for what it’s worth. Love you, Kath
Anyway, today all three of the points given above are in place. Already some are responding and asking for their address to be added to On The E with Ruth and are safely in place there now.
We will also do more work here on The Blog that reaches into that area and shares what people feel and see and wish to talk about. Due to the nature of the blog...they might be set up as separate entries, but then again, i may set up one long Sharings entry and see how that works for you all now.
To participate over the blog you have to register your e-mail address...otherwise, you do not receive anything from me...thus we eliminate anyone saying they were sent mail they did not authorize or want. Excellent!
The third point has been made clear both here and on the last letter out to the AOL address group this morning.
Thank you all...this work is meant to help and not hinder--either you or me.
However, It is a good idea to perhaps limit the sharings to one or two long ones if that is possible for you. I know it takes a lot of work on your end to provide us with all this extraordinay material that keeps us connected in spirit. But, I do like the new blog format and believe it is very effective for voicing our replies at any time. Very constructive and witty LOL.
thank you for all your work and wisdom.
